| Dunedin
residents love to have fun, and the downtown area hosts many
events to entertain through out the year. Usually, kicking off
the year with Dunedin’s annual Mardi Gras Festival, where
downtown is blocked from all traffic and a magnificent parade
is lead through out downtown area, with everything from beads
to kisses being thrown off the floats. During the year Dunedin
also has their very own Dunedin Wines the Blues festival with
live music, as well as many different wines to choose from.
Dunedin also has many family orientated events, especially during
the holidays, such as Happy Holly-Daze and Parade, Old-Fashioned
Holidays, Honeymoon Island Seafood Fest and Boat Show just to
name a few.
Come
spring time, it’s Baseball! At the Dunedin Blue Jays
Stadium you can see all your favorite teams during the spring
training games. Sit in the newly renovated Stadium with a
cold beverage and a red hot and...play ball!
In
and around out city you will find very quaint shops, restaurants,
pubs and bars, even our very own brewery
- most of which have live entertainment on the weekends. So
if you are a night owl, by all means c’mon out and have
a drink and enjoy our local sounds and tastes!
Getting
back to the Scottish roots in Dunedin means that it’s
time again for the Highland Games to take place at the local
community center. The Highland Games feature the Highland
fling and the Caber toss along with many other traditional
Scottish games. There is music, arts, crafts and, of course,
Scottish food and drink. Overall if you are looking for something
to entertain friends and family Dunedin has it all.
